@ Sun Mutual Fund
Project Need
The client was amongst the first few private sector mutual funds to start operations in India. In just 7 years, the client had increased their corpus to over Rs. 60 Billion. The corpus was divided over multiple schemes and managed through a service chain containing own personnel and outsourcing partners.
The client desired an intuitive reporting system that could provide insights into business events, reports that go beyond basic transactions. The client desired a reporting system that would aid the marketing team in analyzing the performance of their products, distribution channels and partners. The system was also to aid the top management in relating expenses and income and for formulating effective strategy.
Solution Employed
Aurovision implemented its proprietary Powered Intelligence, Pi, framework for The client. Aurovision’s Pi framework covered processes from data extraction, transformation and loading to data delivery over a multi-dimensional reporting structure.
Aurovision built systems to extract data from the client’s own and partner systems, clean them and move them into a marketing data-mart. Transactional as well as master information was updated daily.
The application was constructed using Microsoft SQL 2000 Database and Analysis services. The report clients were constructed using Microsoft .NET environment allowing the reports to be deployed on desktop clients as well as over the internet; additionally, reports in Crystal Reports were also developed for specific users.
Project Benefits
The multi-dimensional reports provided perspectives on:
- scheme performance
- distribution partner performance
- customer behavior
- and relating performance to marketing expenditures
The reports were classified as daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as well as periodic comparison reports. The reports themselves have drill down capabilities, allowing the user to move from the top-most categorization, department to the actual transactional level data. The user could view data both in textual as well as in chart format.
