Project Need
The client is a full line home shopping service that offers over 3500 varieties of groceries, toiletries, fruits and vegetables. The client is a quality dial-in services promoted by a large multinational group in India. The client has multiple distribution centers, catering to different geographical areas in the city of Mumbai.
The client desired a reporting system, providing information on daily business as well as insights into business development. The client desired a system to aid their marketing initiatives and support business strategy.
Solution Employed
Aurovision constructed a complete Multi-Dimensional Reporting application to aid marketing decisions at the client. The Aurovision application worked off a data-mart constructed to support the client’s business profile and was populated with data from the transactional systems at the end of every working day. Both transactional as well as master information is updated daily.
The multi-dimensional reports provide perspectives on distribution center performance and customer behavior.
- reports are classified as daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as well as periodic comparison reports.
- reports have drill down capabilities, allowing the user to move from the top-most categorization, department to the actual transactional level data. The user can view data both in textual as well as in chart format.
The application was developed using Microsoft SQL 2000 Database and Analysis services. The report clients were constructed using Microsoft .NET environment allowing the reports to be deployed on desktop clients as well as over the internet
